Open Bottom Metal Containers
Sall designs and produces stackable metal containers with an opening bottom, with automatic closing of the body by positioning it on the ground and safety mechanisms. Ideal for the collection, temporary storage, transport and unloading by forklift and crane of scrap, scrap, materials, processing waste and industrial waste in an efficient and safe manner. Lifting and handling by crane or overhead crane is possible thanks to the special attachment eyes. All models in the line have the CE mark, certified capacity (from 1300 to 2000 kg depending on the model) and have a robust structure made of extremely shock-resistant steel sheet, of certified and traceable quality, welded in compliance with the UNI EN ISO 3834-2:2021 standard.
Available in versions with 1 or 2 opening bottoms, they are powder coated in standard Sall colours (orange, blue, grey, green and light blue) suitable for correct waste separation in the company. The containers with opening bottoms are carefully designed and tested to prevent risks due to possible slipping and involuntary openings during handling. In fact, all models are equipped with a chain for fastening to the forklift, a safety lock that prevents accidental unloading of the contents and a practical unloading mechanism that can be activated by the operator, by pulling the rope connected to the operating lever, without having to get off the forklift.
Upon request, they are also available in a galvanized steel version and painted in any color the customer desires.
The paint made by Sall not only gives the product a long-lasting color, for maximum visibility during operations, but also creates a thick film (from 80 to 100 microns) ultra-resistant, which wraps every part of the container with an opening bottom, protecting it from rust, corrosion and atmospheric agents. Open Bottom Containers
The 1-opening bottom containers are available in the following versions:
- With sleds: allow for even distribution of the load and further facilitate closing the bottom by resting it on the ground.
- With galvanized steel feet: provide optimum corrosion resistance when the container is positioned in areas that may be subject to spills or puddles.
- With wheels: allow for easy and convenient manual handling.
The opening bottom containers with wheels are therefore recommended for the collection of heavy materials and waste in small spaces and work areas where the forklift cannot pass.

Instructions for the Correct Use of Open-Bottom Metal Containers
Drop-bottom containers can be moved with cranes, overhead cranes and all types of adjustable forklifts whose capacity is appropriate to the weight lifted (unloaded weight of the equipment plus nominal capacity) and operating conditions. For maximum safety of personnel during transport of the container from the work area to the unloading area, it is necessary to:
- Make sure the bottom fixing devices are properly engaged.
- Make sure that the lever that allows the bottom to open is locked during transport.
- Keep the forks slightly raised and the container in the lowest possible position.
- All movements must be carried out with the lifting forks tilted backwards.
Containers can be stacked 1+2 from the heaviest to the lightest. It is expressly forbidden to modify or apply any type of modification to the drop-bottom containers as this will void the warranty and could also alter the operation of the safety mechanisms. Drop-bottom containers must be used only by trained and qualified personnel. It is always recommended to carefully read the user manual and follow the instructions.
