IBC tanks are in fact frequently subject to manual filling/emptying operations and handling with forklifts which, if carried out carelessly, can cause accidental spills and losses that are potentially dangerous for personnel and the environment.
Therefore, to prevent workplace risks, possible environmental damage, such as pollution of groundwater, and comply with current laws, it is essential to use safety tanks with an adequate collection capacity for this type of container.

Recommended tank for liquid type:
- Collection tanks for steel tanks (galvanization and/or overpainting of the desired color on request for all models): recommended for chemicals, hazardous liquids, pollutants e flammable and suitable for all industrial sectors with the exception of the food industry for which the use of stainless steel tanks is required.
Per acids and corrosive substances The models can also be equipped with a special internal lining in polyethylene or polypropylene. This lining allows for a tank with the resistance and durability of steel and the resistance to corrosion and acids typical of polyethylene collection tanks.
- Stainless steel tank containment tanks: ideal for thefood, chemical, pharmaceutical industry e cosmetics for the ease of cleaning of the surface and the excellent hygienic coefficient of stainless steel. Suitable for food liquids, flammable substances e corrosive being a fireproof and corrosion resistant material. Stainless steel collection tanks are made to order, according to customer specifications.
Please remember that the capacity of liquid containment tanks is calculated as follows: total volume in litres of stored substances divided by 1/3 but in any case always at least equal to the volume in litres of the largest container stored on the tank.
The minimum collection capacity in litres of the collection tanks for IBC tanks must never be less than 1000 litres and if the storage of polluting and dangerous substances takes place in a groundwater protection zone then the collection tank will have to have a capacity equal to the entire stored volume in litres (100%).

The collection tank for tanks The 1000-liter IBC container made by Sall is certified and tested for watertightness and is resistant to most of the hazardous substances contained in IBC tanks. The steel collection tanks are available in overpainted or galvanized steel versions. For the containment of corrosive substances and acids, steel collection tanks are recommended with internal lining in polypropylene PP or polyethylene PE for acids. Upon request, they are also made in stainless steel, ideal for the food and chemical-pharmaceutical sectors for the high level of hygiene they offer and for their resistance to acids.
All models are tested and certified for watertightness, according to UNI EN ISO 3834:2-2021, to guarantee the highest level of safety in the event of IBC spills or leaks and are designed for ensure compliance with the laws on workplace safety and environmental protection (Legislative Decree No. 81/2008, Legislative Decree No. 22/1997, Legislative Decree No. 151/2006 and EU directives 91/156/EEC on waste, 91/689/EEC on hazardous waste and 94/62/EC) and the EU regulations in force on the matter.
For non-European countries, tanks are designed and built to comply with specific foreign regulations on the matter.
